You may have some experience working
in a kitchen environment. You may be looking to
develop a career or maybe you are looking for a
position with less responsibility to appreciate
other things in your life.
You will assist the Head Chef in the preparation
of consumables and to relieve in the absence of
the Deputy Head Chef.
About the position
Assist the Head Chef, Deputy Head Chef and Assistant Chef.
Prepare all garnishes to accompany the main meal and sweet courses.
Prepare and serve breakfast.
Prepare the sweet courses.
Assist in the preparation of picnic lunches
Maintain standards of food and kitchen hygiene.
Maintain standards in food preparation.
Relieve in the Deputy Head Chef, Assistant Chef and Kitchen Porters absence.
Development opportunities
Opportunities exist to transfer to
other Houses if you wish, on recommendation of the
House Manager.
Once you have been in post for an appropriate
length of time, there will be opportunities to develop
to Assistant Chef, on the recommendation of the
House Manager.
Accommodation
Each week there is an offset against wages of £31.22 for accommodation and a charge of £11.45 for food (if required), this would include all meals for 7 days.
Prior kitchen experience desirable. Contract to run from mid-December until the New Year with suitable candidates welcome to return for subsequent seasons.
