| A commitment to training |

At HF Holidays we have a strong commitment to ongoing training that has been recognised with a national 'Investors in People' Award, which we recently achieved for the fourth succssive time. In the last week around 70 of our Walking Leaders met at Malhamdale in the Yorkshire Dales for a conference devoted to our overseas holidays. There were opportunities for the Leaders to hone their language and navigation skills, together with learning more about how to handle the unexpected situations that they may occasionally be faced with.
"These weekends are very valuable in maintaining the high quality of our holidays" explains Europe Manager, Steve Backhouse. "Most of the time our holidays run extremely smoothly, however its important that our Leaders know what to do if, for a example, a guest is taken ill or a flight is delayed. It was great to be working with such an enthusiastic group of Leaders and it was not hard to see why they are so highly regarded by our guests".

Following their holiday, many thousands of Guests return their Guest Questionnaires, and these form the source for our House of the Year Awards.
Freshwater Bay Country House accommodation on the Isle of Wight was host to this year's annual award ceremony, for which the results have never been closer.
The top award of House of the Year went to Freshwater Bay House. Freshwater Bay also achieved a gold award for Best Food and Most Houseproud and a Highly Commended award for Best Friendliness and Helpfulness of Management.
Tony Wootton and his team were delighted to receive these awards. They work hard to make each and everyone's holiday special and the results show that their guests appreciate this.
This years results were close with high standards set leading to more awards than ever before. With very little to choose between many of our Country House accommodation, and consistently high standards all Country House accommodation deserved praise.
