Vermont Itinerary |

Days 1-2: Arrive Boston (2 nights). Highlights of
our tour of Boston include walking the Freedom
Trail, exploring the legacy of America's path to
independence and a visit to Quincy Market. |
Days 3-9: Arrive at Rutland (7 nights) with time
to relax and enjoy the hotel grounds and
facilities. During our stay in the mountains of
Vermont we visit quintessential New England
towns such as Proctor, Brandon and Middlebury
and explore the beauty of Killington Peaks for
panoramic views of the Green and White
Mountains. Walking sections of the beautiful
Appalachian Trail takes us to Woodstock and
West Hartford. We also walk the Long Trail to
Deer's Leap and ascend Mt Tom. Free day
options include a tour of some of the scenic
villages of Southern Vermont.
Day 10: Arrive New York (1 night).
Day 11: Enjoy a walking tour of the city, taking in
many of the famous sights before the evening
flight home.
Day 12: Arrive in UK

Days 1-2: Arrive Boston (2 nights). Highlights of our
tour of Boston include walking the Freedom Trail,
exploring the legacy of America's path to
independence, and a visit to Quincy Market.

Days 3-9: Arrive at Lake Placid (7 nights). From our
base in the Adirondacks State Park, we walk the
Brewster Peninsula Trail along the shores of Lake
Placid, explore the Saranac Lake region and follow
trails to Rocky Falls and Indian Pass. An ascent of
one of the high peaks of the Adirondacks offers
panoramic views of the park, whilst walks to Heart
Lake, Floodwood Pond and Marcy Dam complete a
superb programme in this beautiful area. Free day
options include a visit to John Brown’s Farm, a boat
trip on Lake Placid or an excursion to High Falls
Gorge.
Day 10: Arrive New York (1 night).
Day 11: Enjoy a walking tour of the city, taking in
many of the famous sights before the evening flight
home.
Day 12: Arrive in UK

Guided Walks:
Shorter walks are 2-5 miles with ascents of up to 700ft. In addition a harder walk of up to 8 miles and 2,000ft of ascent will be offered on one of the walking days at each centre. |

At Rutland we stay at the Holiday Inn which
has good leisure facilities, including a gym,
pool, whirlpool, spas and sauna. The hotel is
situated in extensive grounds with woods, a
lake and tennis courts. At Lake Placid the
alpine-style Golden Arrow Hotel is located on
the shores of Mirror Lake at the heart of the
village and has an indoor pool and private
beach. Comfortable city hotels are used in
Boston and New York.
