By popular demand HF Holidays has expanded its Winter Experience holidays to now include downhill skiing and snowboarding. These exhilarating holidays are great fun for beginners or those looking to improve their technique, while adrenalin junkies will also find plenty of adventure on the mountain slopes.
We’ve teamed up with two excellent local ski and snowboarding schools, which offer many different levels of tuition and will ensure you are in a group of equal ability. Even if you’ve never skied before your friendly HF Holidays' leader will be on hand to offer advice on suitable skiing areas, co-ordinate all local arrangements, and will make your holiday hassle free and, most importantly, unforgettable.
We have chosen two of our top resorts to re-launch these superb holidays. Enjoy either the Swiss village of Adelboden, one of the countries top ski resorts, or Mayrhofen, surrounded with stunning vista’s of the Zillertal mountains. Our resorts are part of huge, interlinked areas, which means that even relative beginners can tour the region travelling miles over the day from one valley to another.
You’ll stay in good quality, comfortable hotels that are well known to our previous guests for their sociable and relaxing atmosphere. We’ve chosen family-friendly places to stay and whether you are a tot fearlessly snowploughing down the nursery slopes or a teenager with attitude, everyone gets what they want. Scenic Adelboden is one of Switzerland’s top ski resorts. An extensive range of pistes invite both beginners and intermediates to explore this extremely beautiful area. The resort’s location high in the Bernese Oberland ensures an excellent snow record year after year.
Beginners
Beginners are well served by excellent nursery slopes surrounding the village and the resort hosts 43 separate easy trails.
Intermediates
Adelboden’s well groomed pistes are ideal for intermediates who can enjoy exploring the extensive skiing area.
Snowboarding
Beginners will find Adelboden’s gentle slopes an excellent place to try their first snowboarding session. For Intermediates, there is an excellent snowboarding park, crammed full of entertaining features.

Where you'll stay
 HOTEL WALDHAUS-HULDI
This three-star hotel offers a friendly, family-run atmosphere and comprises two traditionally styled buildings, connected by a passageway. The hotel faces south across the valley to the mountains and is just a few minutes' level walk from the centre of the village and all local amenities. There are 47 en-suite bedrooms, most of which have a balcony. Facilities include an attractive restaurant, bar, lounge and sauna.

The beautiful Zillertal mountains create a fantastic natural backdrop for skiiers and snowboarders. The Zillertal area is vast, offering a great variety of pistes for skiers. Skiing immediately behind Mayrhofen starts at the top of the Penken lift, which at 1,800m, ensures that the resort has an excellent snow record.
Beginners
The skiing in Mayrhofen is superb for beginners, with a wide variety of gentle runs ideal for building your confidence.
Intermediates
Mayrhofen is a paradise for Intermediate skiers with over 350km of piste
to explore, with The Penken offering a superb variety of red runs.
Snowboarding
Gentle slopes offer the beginner a variety of runs perfect for your first time
on a snowboard. For intermediate snowboarders, Mayrhofen is renowned
as one of Europe’s top snowboard resorts.

A small, beautifully maintained, four-star hotel. The Pfister family have looked after our guests for many years and have maintained an excellent reputation for the high quality of their meals and personal service. The hotel is situated in a peaceful location overlooking meadows, yet just a few minutes' walk from the village centre.
There are 20 en-suite bedrooms, most of which have a balcony. Facilities include an attractive restaurant, bar, lounge and sauna.
