Monk Coniston is a romantic Gothic-style house - complete with minstrels'
gallery - leased from the National Trust, which maintains a rare tree collection
in the extensive landscaped grounds. Set just north of Coniston Water and
east of Coniston, which has a range of shops and cafes, it enjoys glorious views
of the lake and Coniston Old Man. Forests, valleys and unspoilt villages make
this an area of beautiful and spectacular scenery.

HF Holidays lease this property from the National Trust and
manage this Country House accommodation to ensure that you enjoy a
high level of service. A warm welcome from caring staff awaits
you. Our Country House accommodation caters exclusively for our guests
and the atmosphere is very much like a house party - it's
all a far cry from the anonymity of a conventional hotel.
Public Rooms - An elegant drawing room awaits, with
original marble fireplace, large mirrors, carved wood panels
and ceiling, with access to the Garden Room and spectacular
views over Coniston Water. A bar with french windows leads
out on to a sun terrace and a 17th Century barn is available
for dancing and games.
Facilities - Boot room, drying room, laundry facilities, mini-shop,
croquet, putting, volleyball, short tennis and badminton.
No Smoking - Monk Coniston is designated as non-smoking. Smoking is
also not allowed on transport provided during any holiday.
You can be assured of a friendly and personal service throughout your stay
with us.

Some have en-suite facilities (bath or shower and WC). You'll find complimentary

Fresh ingredients, carefully chosen provide an excellent
local and international cuisine. A vegetarian option, for
which we are renowned, is available at all times.
Dining arrangements are for tables of 6 or 8 in an informal atmosphere.
Breakfast: Choice of continental or full English breakfast.
Lunch: Our famous self-select picnic lunch.
Dinner: A table d'hote evening meal followed by coffee and mints.

in the grounds.
BY NATIONAL EXPRESS COACH: Travel to Windermere Main Road Tourist Information
centre. For further information
